Blackout Aftercare
First Night
Remove the bandage/film and shower. Using the hottest water you can comfortably stand, gently wash the blackout and remove any blood or plasma buildup.
Let it air dry for about 30 minutes, or gently pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Before bed, re-wrap it with clean plastic wrap. Do not use lotion or ointment before wrapping. Repeat this for the first 3 nights.
Days 1–3
Wash with warm water as needed, usually 1–3 times a day. If you notice blood or plasma seeping from the tattoo, wash it again. Keeping it clean and dry helps prevent heavy scabbing.
After washing, let it dry completely before covering it again.
After Night 3
Stop wrapping it. Continue washing normally and begin using a small amount of lotion whenever it feels dry, itchy, or tight.
Blackouts generally take 2–3 weeks to heal.
